I have no idea why Creative setup files have this problem but the CTZAPP workaround works most of the time.įinally, you may need to clean uninstall any Creative software and drivers then use DriverCleaner in safe mode. The setup file just sometimes needs to be coaxed. But most packages made since 2002 will recognize it.
The SB0100 will not be recognized by older cd's made for the original SBLive 5.1 like the SB0060. The file is usually in that Audio\Drivers folder. If you're going from cd then there's nothing to extract. But it always is something like that, or driversetup.exe, and is located in the Audio\Drivers folder of the extracted files. The CTZAPP installer is not always called CTZAPP as Creative made different versions. This usually doesn't happen on a fresh Windows installation, but often does if there has been any other audio card installed, Creative or otherwise.

You need to use the Creative driver installer (CTZAPP) to get the software setup to recognize the card. Just directing Device Manager to the driver folder will also get drivers installed, but this doesn't fix the setup for everything else. Instead of upgrading the original game's graphics to modern-day 3D pizzazz, the designers chose to use the same 2D VGA graphics that Tyrian fans are familiar with. First look at the game should comfort every old-school arcade fans that XSIV Games is on the right track. Newcomer XSIV Games had a lot to live up to in developing the unofficial sequel to this masterpiece, but fortunately, Tyrian 2000 more than deserves the Tyrian name. With excellent graphics, smooth animations, and many inventive enemies and levels, it remains one of the best-loved shooters that still stay on many fans' hard drives. Tyrian is one of the best top-down shooters ever made for the PC, period.
